The transformation of London into a Active Travelling City is underway; Safer junctions, roundabouts, segregated routes comibined with marketing campaigns to increase use are starting to spring up all over London: The £100m Mini-Hollands Programme is starting to be realised in the three outer Boroughs of Waltham Forest, Enfield and Kingston - each with slightly different objectives and challenges Work on The Quietway Network with associated juction redesigns and marketing campaign is well underway. The Cycle Superhighways are on their way to becoming safe cycle expressways through the centre of London In 2013 the Mayor's Vision for Cycling in London announced that London’s cycling budget would double, to almost £400m over the next three years, or roughly £18 a head, up with the best in Germany. The successful delivery of this vision depends on London Borough officers, working with TfL and a number local stakeholders. This event is aimed at supporting successful delivery |
Delegates at Transforming London Streets will have the opportunity share best practice in design, discuss common challenges and opportunities, and network with each other to leave with a better understanding of the issues and possible solutions, with new contacts and some inspiration. Transforming London Streets will feature presentations from the London Borough officers who will be involved implementing schemes such as the London Grid, Quietways, and Mini-Hollands. This year it is hosted by Southwark Council and will include plenary sessions, speed networking, workshops, site visits and International Panel discussions. Celebrate what works, share what doesn't.Learn how cycle development makes an effective difference.Leave better informed and better prepared to develop cycling in London |
