New for 2019
June 4 afternoon: Digtial Twins workshop
A digital twin is a virtual model of a real product, process or service. A range of digital twins of different infrastructure assets and systems can be joined together in a secure and resilient way, enabling a wide range of data sources to be more effectively input into modelling infrastructure. Digital twins, or City Information Models as they are referred to by some users, are designed to simulate real-world operating conditions, respond to changes, and predict decision outcomes around metrics such as land value capture, business rates, employment and residential density, all things that traditional transport models struggle with. Potentially, digital twins will enable modellers, planners and other key professionals to collaborate on city-wide projects and designs.
This workshop will bring together leading experts to outline the current state of play in digital twin development, and explain how digital twins will fit into , and influence, the future of modelling.
