The Mayor of London's draft Transport Strategy sets out the policies and proposals that will reshape transport in London over the next 25 years. It builds on the vision for a better London, with Healthy – yet functional – at the centre. The draft strategy includes ambitions to make at least 80% of all journeys made by cycle, foot or by using public transport and to reduce car modal share in London from 36% to 20%.
A great deal of effort and collaboration is required to achieve such ambitions. In particular, the Boroughs have an integral role to play. In 2018, Boroughs will be required to draft their own Local Implementation Plans (LIPs) demonstrating how they will achieve the aims of the strategy on a local level. Find out more on 28th September at Healthy Streets, where details of the transport strategy, healthier streets and how London Boroughs should prepare, will be discussed, debated and progressed.
