Ride to the Conference

Route: Stockport Station via the Mersey Valley and Wilmslow Road Cycleway (cycle tour)

Description: A 7.5 mile ride to the conference venue from Stockport station, one stop south of Manchester Piccadilly on the West Coast Main Line, which will take in some of the recent cycling infrastructure delivered in Greater Manchester, including the Trans Pennine Trail, the Wilmslow Road Cycleway and Oxford Road.  Elements of the ride will include busy mixed traffic environments.

Pre-registration is required for this guided cycle ride. A limited amount of bikes have been provided free of charge by nextbike, and delegates requiring use of a nextbike will be prompted to reserve one on registration (please use the links above or below)

Cycle tour of Oxford Road/Wilmslow Road

A 5 mile trip on one of the most significant infrastructure projects delivered through the Cycle City Ambition Grant and Greater Manchester’s first on-highway provision of dedicated space for bikes: the Wilmslow Road/Oxford Road Cyclway.  The Cycleway provides largely dedicated cycle infrastructure over a 4½ mile corridor between central Manchester and Didsbury.  The tour will include the Oxford Road project through the University area of Manchester, and Rusholme district centre where a dedicated cycle route has been provided through a dense local centre with multiple competing highway uses. View route

All in your stride - Manchester Bee Trail walking tour

Description: Find out about the history of Manchester and the importance of the worker Bee on this circular guided walk around the city centre of Manchester.  The 2km walk will take place come rain or shine with umbrellas available to borrow if required.
