Bristol City Council, Bristol’s Traffic Control Service, Bristol Operations Centre
In 2017 Bristol City Council brought its three disparate control centres under one roof: the Traffic Control Centre, Emergency Control Centre and Community Safety (CCTV) Control Rooms. With the three decision control rooms now combined, the relevant teams can work together when an emergency call is received, enabling a fast, efficient and effective service, says Bristol City Council.
The judges said: “Bristol’s project was the useful, practical and well thought out intervention that should be rolled out more widely, if not universally in cities and regions. Practical steps to make cities smart today!”
