This project used transport modeling to assess different on-demand ride-sharing options in Barcelona. PTV believes it is vital to simulate a MaaS fleet before going live with the service. “It is a common finding that the largest part of the potential demand can be served with a reasonable amount of vehicles, but the last part of the demand costs a tremendous number of additional vehicles,” the team found.
The panel said: “PTV’s MaaS Barcelona includes the offering of all public transport modes, as well as private vehicles and the updated demand for mobility. This puts it ahead in the Best Mobility as a Service Category due to the depth of the project”
