The Liveable Neighbourhoods Conference 2019 |
||
The £114 million Liveable Neighbourhoods programme, funded by Transport for London (TfL), is giving 18 London boroughs – and more in the coming years – the opportunity to create streets and places that encourage walking, cycling and the use of public transport. The programme supports the aims of the Mayor's Transport Strategy by funding local schemes to reduce car trips and improve neighbourhoods. The successful delivery of this vision depends on London Borough officers, working with TfL and local stakeholders. This event is aimed at supporting the successful delivery of Liveable Neighbourhoods across London by connecting and promoting knowledge-sharing between current and future participants. Not all Liveable Neighbourhoods will look the same – far from it: initiatives across the Capital include schemes designed to cut rat running, make junctions safer, implement new walking and cycling infrastructure, create pocket parks and revamp public spaces. Hosted by the London Borough of Haringey, this summit will showcase the best examples of political leadership, policy, projects and programmes that are delivering Liveable Neighbourhoods. |
The Liveable Neighbourhoods Best Practice Guide launch The Liveable Neighbourhoods summit will also see the launch of The Liveable Neighbourhoods Best Practice Guide, which Landor LINKS are publishing in partnership with Transport for London. The guide will be made available to delegate attendees and includes 64 pages of best practice hints and guidance for the successful mobilisation and implementation of Healthy Street developments, Liveable Neighbourhoods and community regeneration projects. The publication details a step-by-step toolkit using best practice examples from the mini-Holland Boroughs and Phase 1 of the Liveable Neighbourhood programme, as well as expert viewpoints from Brian Deegan, Ben Plowden, Chris Harrison and many more. The Liveable Neighbourhoods Best Practice Guide is kindly sponsored by Commonplace, Cyclehoop, Project Centre, Rosehill Highways and Urban Movement |
