Cycle City Active City Conference Day 1

Morning 

9:00am – 11:30am Cycle Superhighway: guided ride

Led by CityConnect, this ride starts from City Square in Leeds and takes in the ground-breaking new superhighway between Leeds and Bradford. Bike and luggage transfer provided, 30 places - book your free place here

10:15 – 11:15am Bradford Walking Tour

Led by John Dennis,  Chair, CityConnect Advisory Group, this hour-long tour will take in the unique sights of Bradford. Meet at Pavilion Café, 30 places, first-come, first-served basis

10:30am – 12:00pm Bike Friendly Business Workshop

Led by Gavin Wood of CityConnect this workshop will encourage you to think about how your workplace could become more cycle friendly and the benefits this could bring – held in the Cubby Broccolli Theatre at the National Science and Media Museum - book your free place here.

10:30am – 12:00pm Public bike share Workshop

Led by nextbike this workshop involves sharing ideas on what makes a strong and effective bike share scheme - held in the Bronte and Priestly Room in the National Science and Media Museum.  Book your free place here

10:30 – 12:00 Cycling Monitoring & Evaluation workshop

Led by Dr Andy Cope, Director of Insight, Research and Monitoring Unit at Sustrans, this workshop will cover cutting edge techniques and developments to make the case for change – held in the Braine Room in the National Science and Media Museum. Book your free place here

Old Bikes/Memorabilia  Display of all Bradford related cycling jerseys from past and present as well as a display of a many photos and images of cycling in Bradford as possible, past and present

19.00 Pedal-Powered Cinema in City Park

Marquee and bike-pedalled cinema showing Bradford-related films, sponsored by CityConnect

20.00 Bicycle Ballet Performance in City Park

A performance by the Bicycle Ballet featuring local multi-ability riders from Bradford Disability In Sport

20.00 After-Party Music Performance in City Park

The evening will finish with the Bradford Cycling Band '53-10' who will play a rousing set against the backdrop of water and lights!

British Cycling Skills Zone, Centenary Square

Children from local schools will ride to Bradford and practice their cycling skills on this

mini obstacle course

 

From 10.00 - 16.00 in Centenary Square, Bradford

Adapted Bikes Try-Out Area, Centenary Square

Bradford Disability Sports and Leisure will bring a range of adapted and decorated bikes

to Centenary Square for everyone to try
