Sustainable transport and health are at the top of the policy agenda, with both funding and political will to drive positive change.

Support the local economy; boost activity levels and cut carbon emissions
The Sustainable Transport and Health Summit 2017 will showcase the quality sustainable travel infrastructure and behaviour change initiatives that are incentivising active travel choices
It will show how local authorities, practitioners and communities are making the most of significant new opportunities for closer collaboration between transport planning, public health and regeneration professionals in order to: Improve health; Deliver economic growth; Benefit the environment and influence greater uptake in active travel.
In his 2015 Autumn Statement, the Chancellor announced £580 million (£80 million revenue and £500 million capital) for sustainable travel. The Access Fund was launched in July 2016 and will come on-stream in 2017/18.
