BAM Nuttall

BAM Nuttall is part of the Royal BAM Group, one of Europe’s largest contractors employing 20,000 people globally, with an annual turnover of £7 billion. Established for more than 150 years, we deliver exceptional engineering, construction and investment services across private and public sector projects, in the UK and abroad. Our projects range from road, rail and airports, to marine, tunnelling, and energy schemes.

We’re driven by a desire to make a difference to communities, the environment and people’s lives. Our goal is to build sustainable infrastructure that helps economic growth and allows us be kind to our planet – today and in the future.

As founders of the Institution for Collaborative Working, we believe co-operation is paramount to delivering the best service and our Supply Chain partners help us to achieve this success through early engagement and long term relationships. That’s why we always work collaboratively with our customers, supply chain and industry partners.

We are fully embracing digital ways of working to improve the safety, sustainability and buildability of our projects. As part of the BAM Group, we strive to become the market leader in digital technology. And we’ve invested heavily in training to ensure our people have the skills to match our ambition

Our Digital Construction Methods Include:

·         Building Information Modelling (BIM) to give us a clearer understanding of the design, so we can foresee issues before they become a problem.

·         Virtual technologies such as augmented reality to enable our project team, client and stakeholders to experience an asset before it is constructed.

·         Robotics and 3D printing to offer safer, more innovative ways of fabricating and constructing items on and off site.

ATKINS

Atkins

At a time when tackling the climate emergency is at the forefront of people’s minds, at Atkins we know that Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) solutions offer fast, cost-effective, deliverable and sustainable ways of supporting  reductions in car use and contributing to fairer societies through enabling improved mobility in congested city regions.

We have considerable experience in helping our clients deliver successful BRT schemes through understanding the problem BRT is intended to address; and through supporting scheme identification, option development and appraisal, business case preparation, the design, costing and testing of priority measures, service design, delivery and post-opening evaluation.

We have supported the delivery of several ground-breaking Bus Rapid Transit schemes in the UK including the Glider in Belfast, Cambridgeshire Busway and Metrobus in Bristol, with many other schemes currently under development.

Our experts support a range of engineering and technology solutions from designing interchanges, bus stop infrastructure, priority measures on and off the highway; to real-time passenger information systems and advice on revenue collection, revenue protection and vehicle configuration and technologies.

We are also shaping the future of transport; providing planning, engineering and design services for Curiosity Lab in Atlanta, a living laboratory for testing autonomous vehicles (AVs) and smart city technology in a real-world environment and though working as a technical assessor, supporting the roll our of the first driverless bus solution in Denmark.

Scania GB

Scania has a long experience of supplying and operating trucks and buses on all of today’s major biofuels – bioethanol, biodiesel and biogas. Unique amongst vehicle manufacturers, Scania also has a Euro6 gas-powered engine that could match diesel in energy efficiency.

Since some years back, Scania gas buses have been in operation in the UK. In combination with a growing production of biogas, this makes it possible for a large-scale introduction of clean, sustainable low carbon bus operation, based on a locally produced biofuel. And this could be achieved on a commercial basis, without any need for major subsidies.
