1. Transport Initiatives
Transport Initiatives is an independent transport planning consultancy with a strong in-depth knowledge of sustainable transport in general, particularly cycling and walking. TI's team has many years' experience of putting this into practice for a wide range of clients in both the public and private sectors. We've worked for many local authorities and government bodies in the UK and abroad as well as providing support for larger consultancies.
TI specialises in innovative ways of designing, developing and promoting sustainable transport. We have worked extensively on cycling in London, and recently we were part of the team researching International Cycling Infrastructure Best Practice for TfL. Our members also helped deliver Cycling England's Professional Support Service to local authorities.
Although we're all experienced cyclists, we have a strong appreciation of the concerns which deter the less experienced from cycling. We have used this to develop the innovative Cycle Skills Network Audit process. Exclusive to TI, this assesses the road/path network in terms of Bikeability levels showing the real level of cycle accessibility.

5. Pleasecycle
PleaseCycle helps Local Authorities and organisations within your district (maybe under a workplace travel context) understand, encourage and reward resident, school-child and employee sustainable travel - a proven way of saving carbon, increasing productivity and lowering absenteeism.
The system is an online portal containing educational content, safe route planners, weather updates and a 'leaderboard'. This allows residents or staff to 'compete' in teams across the district, organisation, or between organisations, build morale and fitness, see how much they're cycling running/ walking, the resultant carbon saved and earn rewards for their mileage - like an "Air Miles" for sustainable/ active travel. These can be redeemed for free coffee, discounts off fitness/cycle accessories, bike servicing etc - or even your own local rewards (which supports the LSTF objectives to drive the local economy)
