iTravel York

iTravel York is the LSTF funded  programme delivering integrated projects supporting personal, business and school travel planning, combined with targeted infrastructure enhancements to increase people’s travel choices. Similar to it's predecessor, Cycling City York, i-Travel York is very much a partnership project, run alongside a range of organisations within the city, with the council leading the way and coordinating a holistic city wide approach.

i-Travel York aims to inspire people in York to help look after our city by keeping it moving, keeping the air clean and promoting personal health and well being by making sustainable travel choices . The promotion of cycling is at the heart of the iTravel York programme. As a result of Cycling City and iTravel York projects between 2008 and 2014 cycling trips in York have increased by 35%

Stand 2. York Bike Belles and Sustrans  

York Bike Belles is York’s cycling community for women.

It is a partnership project, delivered by Sustrans and funded by i-Travel York, and encourages more women in York to cycle, more often!

The Bike Belles social community has organised lifestyle rides, monthly socials, cheese and wine bike maintenance workshops, bike loans, community events  and much more… A unique blend of fun, socialising and healthy outdoor activity guarantees that women gain confidence on a bike, discover the best cycle routes around town, make new friends and progress on their cycling journey!

In only its first year York Bike Belles has engaged with over 700 women at organised rides and events and over 5000 women by way of social and other media.
