Nextbike began in 2004 in Leipzig, Germany and is now one of the leading producers and operators of bike sharing systems around the world. With over 40,000 bikes and presence in over 130 cities across 25 countries, no other public bike sharing system can provide a larger international network of rental bikes. Our experience and know how have allowed us to support hundreds of cities and organisations in planning bike share systems, which are tailor-made to meet their needs in a cost-effective way.

In our 5-year presence in the UK market, we’ve launched 8 successful schemes and operate over 2,500 bicycles, with many more in the pipeline. As of January 2018, we’ve recorded over 660,000 total rentals since the launch of our first UK scheme in Bath in June 2014.
