AECOMCreating great places to live and enjoy We partner with our clients and local communities to create desirable urban spaces that support and encourage health and happiness. We plan, design and build safer, greener and more accessible active travel facilities that cities and towns are proud of, cyclists and pedestrians want to use and will serve communities into the future. Our integrated team of more than 500 transport specialists provide a blend of global expertise and local knowledge to add value to every stage of a project, from developing persuasive funding applications through to promoting the benefits and evaluating the impact of placemaking and active travel schemes. As a BS11000-accredited business, we are the consultant of choice and aim to innovate and deliver programmes as efficiently as possible, using processes such as BIM in our designs. We build relationships with local communities and businesses early on to understand their needs and ensure we make the most of existing assets, funding and resources. Our projects, both large and small, span the UK and include designing the London Borough of Southwark’s Quietway 1 pedestrian and cycling route; pedestrian modelling London’s Kings Cross Station; working with Glasgow City Council to develop their pioneering Woodside Mini-Holland proposal; developing Wolverhampton’s Active Travel Strategy; and providing successful funding bid support for the Greater Manchester Cycle City Ambition Grant programme. Through these projects and our roles on the North West Cambridge masterplan and London’s next generation East-West and North-South Cycle Superhighways, we understand the challenges of managing complex urban schemes and pride ourselves on successfully delivering transformative results for entire communities quickly and for less.
