Wim van Vlierden worked at Q-Park group for 21 years, the last 12 years as Director Development and Design. He oversaw the design and construction of over 700 car parks. Before joining Q-Park, Wim was head of the parking department for the municipality of The Hague from 1983 to 1995, where he was responsible for developing, building and operating over 100 car parks. He was a board member of the Dutch parking association VEXPAN. With his expert knowledge and extensive experience, he has been a member or chair of various committees on car park standards. For the past 5 years he has chaired the committee responsible for the development of a NEN Dutch standard on integral fire safety in car parks and the impact on the environment. Wim started his private consultancy bpa56 some 12 years ago. He works on projects throughout the EU and is often invited as a guest lecturer.
