Transport For The North

Transport for the North are England’s first sub-national transport body – formed to transform the transport system across the North of England, providing the infrastructure needed to drive economic growth.

As a partnership, they bring the North’s 20 local transport authorities and business leaders together with Network Rail, Highways England, and HS2 Ltd, and work with Central Government.

Transport for the North enable the North to speak with one voice on the transport infrastructure investment needed to drive transformational growth and rebalance the UK economy.

Transport for the North’s Transport Analysis, Modelling and Economics (TAME) team are responsible for developing the evidence to support the transport investment.

TAME is split into three closely related core activities of:

  • data analytics & modelling,
  • technical management and assurance, and
  • economic planning and analysis.

TAME modelling and appraisal activities are captured within the Analytical Framework – promoting ‘One North’ for developing evidence. Key to TAME’s activities is to grow the capabilities of the Analytical Framework, with the focus on supporting existing and emerging programmes.

TAME have a significant business case portfolio to deliver during 2019 and 2020, and would welcome the opportunity to see both individuals and organisations who are interested in understanding more about Transport for the North’s activities and the Analytical Framework.

Please visit us at the Transport for the North stand at Modelling World to learn more. We look forward to seeing you there.
