Goodness Gracious Me - it's the British Parking Awards

27 February 2008

Architects, health trusts, shopping centres, technology providers, local councils, developers and a seaside town are among the 50 finalists at the 2008 British Parking Awards

This year the awards are hosted by best-selling novelist, playwright and TV personality Meera Syal. Star of comedies Goodness Gracious Me and The Kumars at Number 42, author of Anita and Me and Life isn’t all Ha Ha Hee Hee and leading player in their television adaptations, Syal is also a journalist and chart-topping singer.

The British Parking Awards were created in 2002 to reward well designed parking facilities as well as the teams and individuals who promote, operate and secure them - and have become the most glittering event in the parking calendar.

This year’s competition attracted more than ninety entries from across the industry. At the Dorchester Hotel on 7 March, parking attendants will vie with senior managers at major car park companies for the Parking Person of the Year, and of course all eyes will be on the coveted Best New Car Park trophy.
