At Witteveen+Bos UK we are passionate about creating better and healthier cities for everyone. We focus on engagement, strategy and design to deliver high quality Dutch-Danish influenced walking and cycling infrastructures. We want to deliver the best - because we don’t want to experience poor quality ourselves.

Our dream is that pent-up demand for active travel is released because people feel invited, confident and happy to walk and ride their bikes. If more people travel actively, we can begin to tackle congestion, health problems and air pollution created by so many short journeys currently driven.

Above all, we want to tempt and invite people to walk and cycle more often and deliver the health, community and wellbeing benefits that are just waiting to be realised. The basis of good urban design is how it performs with regard to active travel.

At the core of what we do is understanding context and people. Our expertise in social engagement, urban design and engineering allows us to look beyond the specific project site to see what will work in context.

Understanding people is the reason why we have introduced virtual reality as a product. Virtual reality brings more certainty and enables people to engage with proposals and request changes.

Witteveen+Bos is a Dutch consultant engineering company with offices in ten countries worldwide, and a staff of over 1,000.
