PJA

Established in 2003 by Phil Jones, PJA has brought together a creative, committed and highly experienced team capable of delivering large and complex projects, providing invaluable strategy, planning and design advice. The  company now numbers over 70 people, across a range of disciplines, and is continuing to grow, making us one of the largest independent transport planning, engineering and placemaking firms in the UK.

We currently operate from offices in Birmingham, London, Reading, Bristol and Exeter and with further expansion planned. PJA has a strong design ethos, working closely with a range of fellow professionals including architects, urban designers and landscape architects.

Our core business is the analysis of travel demands and the planning of transport infrastructure for new developments, and we are now working on numerous large schemes involving thousands of homes. We are also well known for our industry-leading street and active travel design capabilities, blending transport planning and urban design, together with training and research work. We have been responsible for producing important guidance and policy documents such as Manual for Streets and the new Local Transport Note on Cycle Infrastructure and are proud to act as thought leaders in our field.
