See.Sense
See.Sense is an award-winning cycling technology and data company, designing innovative, connected products that solve real problems for cyclists today, whilst generating crowd-sourced sensor data that can be used to improve cycling infrastructure and policies, and help create the smart cities of the future.
We produce cutting edge, high technology cycling products, such as intelligent and connected bike lights and theft tracking devices, either as consumer products or for integration into bicycles and city bike schemes. Our technology makes use of the latest in IoT technology, and along with this we provide innovative applications, real-time monitoring and data visualisation services and analysis to extract meaning from the data.
Possible use cases for our data include identifying ‘hot spot’ areas where there are a high-frequency of ‘near-miss’ events and crashes so that priority areas to invest in cycling infrastructure can be identified, identifying potholes before they’re fully formed, so that cities can repair them at lower cost before they become hazards as well as heat maps of routes
and speed and coming soon - air quality monitoring.
See.Sense was recently crowned the overall winner of the BT SME Award for Connected Cities, as well as the category winner for Smart Cities, held in conjunction with the UK Cabinet office, MK:Smart and TechHub. Their product, ICON, won ‘Best Bike Gadget’ in the road.cc Reader’s Awards 2017.
