RidePod® BP – Permanent Bike Piezo Counter

Two super-sensitive piezoelectric sensors, embedded in the pavement, detect and time-stamp any impact on a path or bike lane with precision. When these impacts are analysed in the MetroCount MTE® software, bicycle axle patterns are identified and non-bike strikes are further processed to determine reliable and consistent pedestrian volumes. The system is battery/solar powered and can be fitted with remote access to deliver data over the mobile network.

The resulting data provides information about every bike, including direction, speed, clusters of bikes, and volumes. Pedestrian volumes can be analysed side by side with bike data to produce time based summaries of shared use paths. RidePod BP is the device of choice for sustainable transport planning.

RidePod® BT – Portable Bike Tube Counter

The RidePod BT uses the same axle detection methodology as the RidePod BP but utilises pneumatic tubes to record air pulses of bike axles. This system is flexible for short term bike surveys across a bike network.
