Scott Wilson: Targeting resource in the Middle East
The Gulf region of the Middle East is an increasingly important market for international consultancy firms and, according to Scott Wilson, also an area where the nature of the work is evolving in some interesting directions

With so many areas of the world suffering from an economic downturn, and cancelling or postponing major transport projects as a result, the Middle East is becoming an ever more important market for the UK consultancy sector, says Jamshid Soheili, director of transportation and infrastructure planning (Middle East) at Scott Wilson. That explains why the company has begun to pay even more attention to this region since he was appointed to his current post earlier this year. “In the Middle East there are certain economic parameters such as the availability of funds and the existence of investors who are still willing to promote projects that present us with exciting opportunities,” he explains.
